Daihatsu Xenia is a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) type car which is the result of a collaboration between Astra Daihatsu Motor and Toyota-Astra Motor. This car was first introduced to the market in early 2004 and has become one of the mainstay vehicles for Indonesian families. Xenia is marketed under two brands, namely Daihatsu Xenia by Astra Daihatsu Motor and Toyota Avanza by Toyota-Astra Motor.
On the front suspension, Daihatsu Xenia uses MacPherson strut, which provides more comfort when driving. For variants with 1.3 and 1.5 liter engines, a stabilizer feature is also added to increase vehicle stability.
As an effort to improve safety, starting in May 2013, Daihatsu Xenia is equipped with double airbags as a standard safety feature. This feature is also available on other class vehicles such as Toyota Avanza, Chevrolet Spin, and Honda Mobilio.
