- 4:00 AM – 5:00 AM: Pick-up at the hotel by the driver and depart for the Borobudur area.
- 5:00 AM – 6:30 AM: Watch the sunrise from Punthuk Setumbu Hill.
- 6:30 AM – 8:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant.
- 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Prepare and wait for the Borobudur Temple tour.

In the morning, the driver will pick you up from your hotel in Yogyakarta or nearby areas. Departing at 4:00 AM, we will head to the Borobudur area, specifically to Punthuk Setumbu Hill. From there, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking sunrise with views of the natural landscape and the majestic Borobudur Temple stupa. The drive from Yogyakarta to Punthuk Setumbu Hill takes approximately 30–45 minutes in the early morning.
Upon arriving at the Punthuk Setumbu Hill parking area, we’ll hike about 150 meters to reach the sunrise viewpoint. You will have around 90 minutes to take in the stunning sunrise. The area has several local vendors offering food and beverages, so if you’d like to enjoy a cup of coffee or some snacks, you can purchase them at very reasonable prices.
After the sunrise tour at Punthuk Setumbu Hill, we’ll descend and head to a local restaurant for breakfast. You’ll have about 90 minutes to relax before the Borobudur Temple tour begins at 8:30 AM. This tour will be led by an experienced local guide who will share insights into the history and uniqueness of Borobudur Temple.
The Borobudur Temple tour typically lasts 90 minutes to 2 hours. If you wish to take your time and capture moments, 2 hours will be more than sufficient. Exploring Borobudur Temple can be physically demanding due to its large area, so it’s essential to prepare your stamina. Once the tour concludes, we will meet you at the exit to continue to the next destination.
Our next stops are Mendut Temple and Pawon Temple. These smaller temples hold significant historical connections to Borobudur Temple. Near Pawon Temple, you’ll find Pawon Coffee Luwak, a popular coffee shop where you can try the famous Luwak coffee. The visit to Mendut and Pawon Temples will take approximately 30 minutes.
We’ll then proceed to Candirejo Tourism Village, where you’ll experience local village life. You can explore the village by horse-drawn carriage, known locally as a dokar, or by bicycle. The peaceful village tour takes you along small rural roads, past traditional houses, and includes stops to observe local activities such as making cassava crackers and playing gamelan music.
After a full day of activities—from witnessing the sunrise to exploring Candirejo Tourism Village—we will return to your hotel in Yogyakarta. Alternatively, we can drop you off at the train station or Yogyakarta airport. And with that, the tour concludes.

Before booking, please note that access to climb Borobudur Temple is limited to 1,200 visitors per day. The climbing sessions are divided into eight time slots: 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. If the first session is unavailable, you may be allocated to the second or third session, with adjustments made to ensure a smooth and flexible experience.
Important information: BOROBUDUR TEMPLE is CLOSED every MONDAY and can only be visited from the temple grounds on that day. This tour can be arranged at any time, subject to the applicable terms and conditions. Full payment is required at the time of booking, via bank transfer, with details provided during the booking process.
